Pantomime

We all had a wonderful time watching Dick Whittington last Thursday at Theatre Severn. We had great seats at the front of the theatre and Annabel and Marty even got to go on the stage to chat with members of the cast!

Impact schools

Unfortunately Mr Darren Mayor was unable to deliver his assembly last Monday due to illness. However he has rearranged to come in on Monday 1st February 2016.

Amendments to New School menu

Following feedback, the catering service has amended the menu slightly for 2016. Please see new menu attached.

Bird boxes

The bird boxes made by the pupils to sell at the Church Christmas fair on Saturday 28th November raised £36.00 for a joint school/Church project.

Visitors from Uganda

On Wednesday 9th December we were very fortunate to have two visitors from Uganda. They were teachers themselves and stayed with us for the morning, talking to the pupils about how life is different and indeed similar in Uganda. They were very impressed with the pupils’ questions and confidence. Emily and Alice from Year 6 interviewed them for the school newspaper.

PTFA Carol singing

On Tuesday 15th December, current and former pupils, and parents all joined in harmony to sing an assortment of carols. We were warmly welcomed by all the households we visited and received very generous donations totalling £122! Thank you to Jayne, Kim, Laura and Sarah for organising it all and providing hot chocolate (with marshmallows and fresh cream), mince pies and rocky road for afterwards! YUMMY!

Head lice

I have had reports of the return of these little critters again! Please could you check your child’s hair and treat as necessary during the holidays, thank you.

School concert

A wonderful array of music was heard yesterday afternoon, by the whole school. Thank you very much to Mary Keith for working with the children this term. They all thoroughly enjoyed it and demonstrated their musicality and enthusiasm in the concert. Well done to you all and thankyou to the audience for your support. I would also like to thank members of the PTFA for organising the raffle and donating the prizes.

The Bell

The pupils in Key Stage 2 are very excited to be writing and producing their very own school newspaper, which they have decided to call ‘The Bell’. The first issue will be coming home to you today. Although the first issue is only going out to you as families of the school, it is envisaged that the distribution of the paper will widen over time. Hopefully to the wider community of Llansilin and surrounding areas.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
