Newyddion Ysgol Bro Cynllaith News


Please note Sports day will now be on the original date (Wednesday 6th June) – apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are hoping to hold it in the afternoon from 1.30pm, depending on the weather!



Pupils in Years 4, 5 & 6 attended the Menter Maldwyn Jambori at Theatr Hafren, Newtown on Thu 17th May. They had a great time joining in with all the songs, actions and dances. Thankyou to Mrs Evans and Mrs B. Morris for accompanying them.


Lillie, Annabel, Ffion and Ceienna took part in a Mini Wimbledon event at Llanfyllin High School on Friday 11th May. They played very well on full size courts – Da iawn chi. Thankyou to Mrs Sarah Evans for accompanying them.


Transition project

On Tuesday 5th June pupils in Year 6 will be attending the launch of a transition project at the Workhouse, Llanfyllin. They will be leaving school at 9am and returning in time for lunch. Mrs B. Morris will be accompanying them.

On this date also Year 2 & 3 pupils will be joining the ‘big class’. Similarly on Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th July. We will also be inviting the new pupils, who will be joining the school in September for ‘taster days’

Royal Wedding Celebrations!


A hot air balloon caused much excitement on Wed 23rd May as it flew over and landed by the school!




May Half-term Fun @ Powysland Museum

On Tuesday the 29th of May Powysland Museum invites children and families to join in the museum’s holiday fun. The activities are all related to the museum’s current exhibition on life in Britain from 1945 to 1999. There will be retro crafts - making a table mat, a button and macaroni necklace and a coin drawing as well as colour-in pictures all originals from 1950s’ and 60s’ children’s books and magazines.

There will be puzzles such as Pop Music word search, help Barbie find Ken and hidden Lego figures around the museum. There will also be a Compare & Contrast and a Timeline game for the whole family to play and enjoy. The activities take place from 11.30am to 2.00pm. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is £3 per child, but there is now free admission to the museum.
