Sports day

Thankyou to everyone who attended our Sports day on Wednesday 6th June.
The pupils had a fantastic time and demonstrated great sportsmanship. Da iawn chi.

Leavers Service – Friday 20th July 2pm

We will be holding our 2018 Leavers Service in Llansilin Church on Friday 20th July at 2pm

The pupils will then return to school to collect their belongings before they go home.

Head of Year 7

Mr Rudge, the head of Year 7 at Llanfyllin High School came to see the Year 6 pupils on Monday 11th June. He reassured them about their transition and answered any questions or concerns they might have.

Llanfyllin Workhouse – Y Dolydd

On Tuesday 5th June pupils from Year 6 were invited to the launch of a transition project to carry out research on the people who went to the workhouse. They will be creating databases and uploading and extracting information using Hwb over the next few weeks and will continue this project when they move up to Llanfyllin High School.

As part of a drive from the Welsh Government, Karen Perry from Hafan Cymru came in to work with both classes on Wednesday 13th June on Healthy Relationships. She will be returning on Wednesday 27th June to complete the project.

Area Sports

Thankfully this event was able to take place, despite the damp weather on Thursday 14th June. Well done to all the pupils who took part at Llanfyllin High School. They ran some challenging but great races – da iawn chi!

Tin can collection

We will no longer be collecting tin cans after this term. If you have any cans ready for us then please bring them in by Friday 29th June. Thankyou.

Personal belongings

Just a little reminder that pupils should not be bringing personal belongings from home into school, due to them getting lost or broken. Certificates and medals can be shared in sharing assembly on Fridays. Thankyou for your continued support.

DCF (Digital Competence Framework) day

On Thursday 7th June all the pupils took part in a range of activities relating to internet safety.

They created their own emoji’s and learnt about their digital footprint.

Some pupils from Key Stage 2 will be attending Llangedwyn School Playing Fields on Friday 29th June to take part in both cricket and rounders. They will be leaving school at 9am and will be back by the end of the school day. A letter has been sent home today with the pupils who are going. We would be very grateful for any help transporting the pupils either there and/or back. Diolch yn fawr iawn/Thankyou very much.

Hot weather next week

It looks like Summer will definitely be here next week! Could you please ensure that your child has sunscreen applied before they come to school and if possible can bring some into school with them, so that it can be reapplied before they go outside. We do have baseball hats for them all at school but pupils are more than welcome to bring in their own also.
